Natural Sciatica Relief – Easy On The Go Lifestyle

My life has always been crazy, I always manage to stay constantly busy even when I try not to. There is just never enough time in the day!

Recently I have been making sure to always fit in the gym every day, even if it is only 20 minutes. With this busy lifestyle meal prepping can be a challenge, as well as, getting natural sciatica relief that does not cost a fortune.

Going to the farmers market is one of my favorite things to do, Sprouts is my go-to! They have so many great, fresh options at an affordable price.

Make Quick Grab

What I started to do was pick 1 day a week to go to the market, Wednesday is the one day you can get old and new deals at Sprouts. It is a complete win if you can fit it in, almost everything is on sale!

When I get home, I immediately wash, cut, and container anything I have time for. I used to skip this step, as you never seem to have time for it, but that is just an excuse.

Fresh fruit — throw a few together in 5 smaller containers. You can use them with your breakfast, as a snack, or throw them on top of your sorbet for a fun dessert! I will grab mostly berries, cherries, grapes, and just a couple fruits that you have to spend time cutting up.

Chop up anything you can to make salads — bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, pears, apples. I cheat A LOT in any way I can. Sometimes you can find all of these pre-cut, but the 2 things you need to keep your eye out for; the price and expiration date (it is always better to have freshly cut, so you do not lose the nutrients!). But hey, sometimes we have to make it effortless for ourselves!

Grab cheese that is already crumbled or shredded and mixed nuts with dried cranberries is always an easy add!

Sometimes I will take 3 XL containers and pre-make my salad, throwing a bunch of items together takes but 10 seconds — do not overthink this process!

Throw pre-cut and pre-washed carrots into a couple different containers and boom, done! Before I start any of this, I grab a pan and throw some water in it. While working on combining the other items, you can be boiling eggs the entire time. Hard boiled eggs make a simple breakfast or great add to your salad!

Main proteins such as chicken, fish, steak, and hamburgers take the most amount of time and can be a hassle. I try to knock it all out at once, get it over with!

My favorite way to cook meat is the BBQ, I just LOVE the flavor. Because I don’t cook with salt, I need any help I can get to liven up a dish! I use a lot of different fresh herbs and salt free seasonings as well. At Sprouts, they have a BBQ Rub that is salt free and so delicious!

To expedite the process in under an hour, I will get the coals going and warm the oven when I know I am about to cook the food. I usually have already marinated the meat or do so while everything is heating up. Throw your fish and veggies in the oven, then start grilling your hamburgers and chicken on the BBQ. Roasted cauliflower is an easy go-to for a veggie, it takes but 2 seconds to prepare!

Let everything cool, chop them, then box them!

When I am bustling around the farmers market, I usually grab a ginger or turmeric pre-made drink. They are super popular right now and easy to find.

My favorite drinks to keep down inflammation and help with recover are about $5 a bottle (buy one get one free if you are lucky). Unfortunately those bottles are a one-time serving and I cannot spend $150 a month just on juices alone, no matter how good they are for me!

Instead of always relying on store bought drinks, I started making some of my own. You can make this easy or difficult on yourself, it all depends on your schedule and patience ha! I personally do not have hours to spend creating drinks and if I make it too complicated or think too much into it I will not do it at all.

So while I am at the store I make sure to grab fresh ginger, turmeric, lemon or oranges, coconut water, honey, ground black pepper, and a natural juice (cherry, pomegranate, or guava). When you get home peel and slice your ginger and turmeric, make sure to cut up your fruit at this time as well.

I make either 2 big pitchers or if I have water bottles washed, I use those.

If you like a bite to your drink, add:

  1. Ginger
  2. Tumeric
  3. Lemon
  4. Cayanne
  5. Pepper
  6. Honey
  7. Coconut water
  8. Still or sparkling water

If you like a drink on the sweeter side, add:

  1. Ginger
  2. Tumeric
  3. Natural juice
  4. Orange or fruit of choice
  5. Honey
  6. Coconut water
  7. Still or sparkling water

I did not give you measurements because you might want to tweak as you go and what works for me might not work for you!
Keep in mind that tart cherry juice is great for inflammation! Also, adding in a little non-alcoholic ginger beer is delicious! You can even throw in electrolyte packets for flavor and more supplementary benefits!

healthy-dessertDon’t Forget Dessert.

If you are anything like me, dessert is a must have. I don’t need it every day, but I make sure to keep it in my house. Sweets are not negative for you, everything is great in moderation.

The best is finding fun, easy to make desserts; especially the ones you think you are cheating, but aren’t. Enlightened has so many, fun flavor options and you can find them in almost any store. They add more protein, have less sugar, and pride themselves on fewer calories.

Another go-to is sorbet, I like to find one with the least amount of ingredients (I do this with a lot of my pre-made items). When I am at the store I grab dark chocolate covered nuts and raw coconut flakes, throw them on the sorbet and go to town.

You can even blend fruit into a smoothie/sorbet, heat up frozen fruit and enjoy with whip cream, or toss some warm apples in peanut butter and cinnamon 🙂

Whatever you do, keep it simple! The biggest reason we do not keep a healthy regiment is because it is out of the way, a little complicated, or time-consuming.

Instead of grabbing a power bar with a bunch of sugar, grab the container of fruit. You don’t need a Starbucks breakfast sandwich because you have the egg and muffin at home and you can just throw them in your bag.

Find items that are health-ish for you, but you really enjoy and keep them in your diet. Unless necessary, do not go on a super strict diet. YOU WILL NOT KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF! Constant good food is better that going on and off of a diet plan you don’t enjoy.

    Your easy on the go lifestyle sounds very tempting. I have a very busy schedule myself and it’s hard to fit in food in between at times, so it helps to prepare my meal ahead of time. I’ve also considered losing some of my belly fat (currently missing 5 out of 6 packs). You are right about eating good food instead of a diet plan that I don’t enjoy. Your list sounds very delicious, I just need to some dedication to prepare it haha.


    1. Hahah tell me about it! It can be very hard at times. My body feels better when I am eating the right foods, but I have to make it simple for me to grab, otherwise I do not follow through!

  2. Delanee, Great article and some fantastic ideas for me! Usually my Wife takes care of meals and snacks but she will be taking some time away to visit her side of the relatives, leaving me home stranded with 2 teenagers. You seem to have some great guidelines for how we can survive once we finish off what my Wife leaves for us. She is a big fan of doing the container packs also, so I do have a clue but I need all the help I can get. (2 teens eat a lot)

    1. Hahah I will second that! We do not have any children yet, but we take care of our nieces and nephews. Between them and my fiancé I am constantly having to keep the house stocked. I think that was the main reason I found ways to make it easier on myself! Good luck!
